The liquid cooling BESS uses liquid cooling technology to manage the temperature of the battery pack. The system is mainly composed of battery modules, liquid cooling plates, coolant circulation systems (including water pumps, heat exchangers, pipelines, etc.), BMS management systems and other core components. A typical liquid cooling plate is made of aluminum alloy and is designed with a serpentine or parallel micro-channel structure. The coolant (usually an aqueous ethylene glycol solution) removes heat through these channels. Compared with the traditional air-cooling system, the liquid-cooled BESS has higher heat dissipation efficiency (the heat dissipation coefficient can reach 800-1200 W/(m²·K)), can control the battery temperature difference within 3℃, and significantly extend the battery life (can up to 8-10 years). The system is widely used in large-scale energy storage power stations, data center backup power supplies, industrial and commercial energy storage and other scenarios.
